How is TWM different from MHFA?
TWM focuses on building resilience, reducing stigma, and promoting psychological safety in workplaces. MHFA focuses on recognising and responding to mental health problems and crises. While both may support early intervention and prevention, TWM may be considered more proactive and preventative, while MHFA is more reactive and supportive. Both programs complement each other in building mental health capability across organisations.
How does TWM complement MHFA training?
TWM and MHFA share the same overarching goal: improving mental health literacy and reducing stigma, but they do so through different approaches.
MHFA equips participants with the skills to recognise and support someone developing a mental health problem or crisis, while TWM focuses on self-awareness, resilience, and sustaining wellbeing in the workplace.
Together, they provide a holistic approach: MHFA trains individuals to support others; TWM helps individuals and teams look after themselves and maintain a healthy work environment.
