Who can apply to become a TWM Instructor?
Current Licensed MHFA Instructors in good standing who have demonstrated facilitation excellence and experience delivering training to workplace audiences are encouraged to submit an EOI.
As part of this rollout, we’ll be training a small group of existing Licensed MHFA Instructors to deliver The Working Mind during the initial evaluation phase.
The program is being introduced gradually, so the number of instructor training spots will be limited in the early stages. Additional opportunities will become available in the second half of 2026 as the program expands across Australia.
TWM EOI selection process
To ensure a fair and transparent process, we invite all current MHFA Instructors to express their interest in joining the pilot cohort.
It is important to note that in the program's initial stages, we will be training fewer than 100 Instructors. This is to ensure we have an adequate supply to meet demand as we evaluate the program's scalability.
Selection will be based on:
- Instructor performance and learner feedback in current MHFA delivery
- Relevant facilitation experience (e.g., specifically in workplace, leadership, or wellness training)
- Commitment to supporting pilot delivery and program evaluation
- Capacity to dedicate the time and energy required to deliver courses in early 2026 when The Working Mind is officially launched.
- Instructors championing MHFA externally.
What is the purpose of the EOI process?
Given we will be training fewer than 100 Instructors in the early stages of the program, the EOI helps MHFAI identify Instructors best suited to deliver TWM. It allows us to match experience, interest, and delivery capacity with upcoming Instructor Training Courses.
How will EOIs be assessed?
EOI assessment will focus on the selection criteria outlined on facilitation experience, confidence in corporate or workplace environments, and alignment with TWM’s focus on resilience and stigma reduction.
What are the next steps if my EOI is successful?
Instructors who are selected will need to complete an application before being offered a place in an ITC.
Applicants for both public and private courses must complete an online application at least 4 weeks before the commencement of the training and demonstrate how they meet the selection criteria, including specific examples where required.
Applications will be reviewed against the stated eligibility criteria.
Once provisionally approved, applicants will need to submit a Working with Children Check and complete the payment process.
Note: We reserve the right to reject any individual application at our sole discretion. An accepted application for one license type does not guarantee acceptance or suitability for other license types.
The price of the ITCs:
- Course 1: 8-12 December 2025 = $4,000+GST (exception granted for the 4 week application window)
- Course 2: 19-23 January 2026 = $4,000+GST
- Course 3: 2-6 February 2026 = $4,000+GST
- Course 4: 16-20 February 2026 = $4,000+GST
- Course 5: 30 March - 2 April 2026 = $4,750+GST
- Course 6: 27 April - 1 May 2026 = $4,750+GST
- Course 7: 18-22 May 2026 = $4,750+GST
- Course 8: 1-5 June 2026 = $4,750+GST
Public courses from 1 July 2026 = $5,450+GST
Those not selected for the initial cohort will still be considered for future training rounds as The Working Mind expands.
What training will TWM Instructors receive?
TWM Instructor Training includes pre-work, attending the course as a participant, interactive workshops, observed facilitation practice, and assessment.
On completion, participants will be licensed to deliver TWM programs in Australia on behalf of MHFAI.
