The license period always goes from Jan 1st to Dec 31st, any given year. This is the same for all instructors and all course types.
It is not based on the date/anniversary of your Instructor Training Course.
There are no extensions to the license period. All license maintenance requirements fall within this calendar year period.
What does licensing mean?
Mental Health First Aid International licenses individuals to be Mental Health First Aid Instructors who are then able to deliver the MHFA courses to course participants based in Australia. Instructors are governed by the Instructor License Agreement which sets out the terms and conditions of this Licence. It contains key information about your obligations, our guidelines, your maintenance requirements and expected code of conduct.
This means that all MHFA instructors have:
- completed the MHFAI application and assessment process and
- successfully passed all components of an Instructor Training Course
This makes them eligible to deliver the specific MHFA courses for which they have trained only, and to deliver them in accordance with the Instructor License Agreement (ILA) that they have acknowledged and will renew annually. The ILA contains key information about your obligations, our guidelines, your maintenance requirements and expected code of conduct.
