Instructors must use their legal names for their Instructor information. There are a couple of reasons for this, which this help article explains below.
Instructor names are matched to your Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
The first name and surname on your profile need to match the details in your WWCC, which means that we need your legal name in our system.
When these items do not match, it might result in an error in the WWCC verification process which will cause your license to lapse incorrectly.
Instructor names are included on participant certificates: Additional characters and information are "breaking" system functionalities
As you are aware, the Instructor's name is printed on Certificates of Attendance and Certificates of Accreditation when participants complete their course and pass their assessment.
Some Instructors have been adding additional characters, such as special characters or digits, to include their contact details. However, when additional characters are included in Instructor names, the certificates are unable to be generated, which creates errors in the workflow and significantly impacts your participants.
Please note: If you have added additional details into your Instructor profile name, Mental Health First Aid Australia will be updating these to reflect your legal name noted on your WWCC. We will continue to monitor this and make changes where necessary.
